F.A.Q's

We will update this page regularly as we develop Scooter Shack Hull and this website. As your local NIU, Horwin, Muto and KIQ dealer we hope you will find the answers to any questions you may have. If not, please get in touch with us and we will be delighted to answer any questions. We are here to help!

  • What are your opening hours?
We are open from 10-5 Monday to Friday and 10-4 on a Saturday. We are closed on a Sunday.
  • What kind of warranty is included?
It depends on the brand. KIQ scooters come with a 1 year warranty. Horwin products have a 3 year battery and motor warranty and a 2 year warranty on all other parts. They also come with 2 years roadside recovery.
  • How long have you been in business?
Scooter Shack Hull was opened in January 2020, so it is pretty new. However, we have been operating as Chevron Cars, which is in the same location, for over 40 years. You can check out our many 5 Star customer reviews on our other website at www.chevroncars.co.uk
  • Do I need any special equipment to charge your vehicles?
No. All batteries can be charged using a standard 13 amp domestic plug socket. You can either charge with the battery in situ, or remove the battery to take into your home or workplace.
  • Who can ride an electric scooter or moped?
If you are wondering what kind of licence you need to legally ride an electric scooter or motorcycle on the road, the link below has all the information you need. Unless you already have a full motorcycle licence you will most likely need to do Compulsory Basic Training. CBT consists of a day of training by a qualified instructor and once completed you will be able to ride your scooter on the road for the next 2 years. www.gov.uk/motorcycle-cbt
  • Do you deliver?
Yes we do. We offer free delivery within Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Further afield we charge £150 Please contact us for further information.
  • Can you recommend an insurer for an electric scooter?
Not all insurance companies will quote for electric scooters at present. Hopefully they will catch up with the modern world soon! We have received recommendations for the following four companies: Bikesure Lexham Insurance MCE Group Bennetts We would love to hear about your experiences with these companies and any other insurance recommendations you have regarding scooter insurance. Every bit of feedback helps us to help our customers in the future. We would always reccommend shopping around, as quotes seem to vary quite dramaticaly from company to company.
